Any advice of what I can put in my naturally curly hair that will make it curl up, not poof?
-
Hi, I'm a 23 white female who has pretty much naturally curly hair already, like the bigger spiral kind, and I usually straighten it. But in the summer, with humidity and all, I would like to be able to wear it just naturally curly, I see girls wear it like this all the time, with all different hair types, and I would love to know how to do it. Even if I put gel in it and let it air dry, it still gets pretty poofy, and not curly. I've tried all kinda of "no frizz" stuff, but would like to know if there's a curling gel out there that works? After toweling it dry from the shower, I love how it looks right then, if I could just make it stay that way, but no matter what I've done, it always get poofy. And sometimes it won't really CURL curl except for around my face and at the ends in the back. What the crap?!? Also, would kinda like to find something I could just go and buy, rather than order online. (I live near Atl, GA kinda by Stone Mnt if that helps) Any help peeps? Thanks so much!

Answer:
My hair is naturally really curly too. its like the small curls that bounce even. lol but yeah what i do is i just put moose on it and scrunch it up . the mousse i use is the one from TreSemme it has the green print on it. or you could also use the Got2Be and maybe spray it a little with any hairspray . that always works for me. and i ALWAYS get compliments on my hair.

Simply allow your hair to air dry, then add your favorite anti-frizz gel, serum or cream to define the waves or curls. If you want more curl, use a round-barrel brush and blow dry smooth curls, or use a large-barreled curling iron for more bounce. For more tousled, wavy hair, come some of the curls out before adding serum or gel.

Go to the message boards on naturallycurly.com. The girls there know what they're doing. You should probably ask this question on there, not many people on YA know much about curly hair. My advice is to shampoo less, and try to steer clear of products containing silicone. Silicone works well on straight hair, but it's NOT for curls! Check out naturallycurly, though, they'll give great advice and you'll learn a whole lot from that website.
