I want my long hair cut off soooo bad, but I just can't do it!?

If you cant find the courage to completely cut it off, cut it about a little less than halfway down your back. And slowly work your way up to cutting it shorter.

Maybe take baby steps and dont cut off to much

I went through this last year..I had really long pretty hair and people used to tell me it looked great. I really wanted it cut short though, so I got it cut just at my shoulders, maybe a little shorter. Everyone really liked it and they said it looked really good, but I really, really hated it. I wanted my long hair back so badly. I wish I had done it gradually, so that's what I think you should do. Get a few inches off, and if you really like it shorter than go back and get a few more. That way you can see how much you really want cut off. Trust me, I wouldn't get rid of all of it at once because I really regretted doing that. Still though you should do what you think is best and don't let anyone change your mind about it. Don't think about what the guys will think just think about what you want, and if you can't bring yourself to say to the hairdresser you want it cut than get someone else [like your mom/sister/dad/brother/etc.] to. maybe try doing it in stages, first get it cut longer than shoulder length, see how it feels then if you want you can go shorter, or leave it till it grows out again...

wow that is crazy long hair. My length is long, but its like... at the middle of my breast and its a very comfortable long. that is probably the best length to get, because there is so much to do with it. Dont cut your hair short, trust me you will miss your long hair so much and you will never get it back! well.. for a long long time anyway. I promise you it will look good if you get what my length is, its so easy to work with too. I had crazy long hair as well :p now i just stick to this length and i loove it! plus im really into hair. But i strongly think you should cut it to my length. I dont know what else to say to make you do it or overcome your fear... but i reaaally do think you will like it!!

You could donate some to locks of love, which is a program that makes wigs for girls with cancer who have no hair after chemotherapy. They require 10 inches, which is a reasonable amount to give away, but your hair will still be relatively long. Your barber has probably heard of it and will be able to send it straight to locks of love, and you might have an easier time parting with your hair knowing that it is going to a good cause.

so i would start by cutting it off little by little and make sure you decide what you want it to look like check it 100 times because if it gets messed up and you just cut off all that hair your going to be really sad or pissed one of the 2 i would imagine and ive had short hair all my life but sometimes i wish i would stop cuuting it but long hair is so hard to take care of! I would just do it. Change is good sometimes. It is not like it will never grow back and if you don't like it it will not stay short forever. You will miss it but you will feel even better that you were brave enough to try something new. Go for it!

I had the same situation when i was sixteen, I loved my long long hair and everyone loved it and girls were jealous of it. but then the ppl who i grew up with and my close friends always wanted me to cut it. but one day i finally decided i didnt want long hair anymore. my motivation was donating it, because your donating hair to someone who doesnt have any and clearly you have plenty to go around haha. i would suggest donating it to locks of love. but i dont think you should get a bob unless you have a very easy or silky type of hair texture. because once its that short you cant do much with it and if you have really thick or frizzy hair it looks too poofy. i cut my hair just above my shoulders and i loved it and so did everyone else but once everyone including myself got past the hype of me cutting off all my hair i missed it. i was also so used to styling it and then i couldnt do anything with it i used to and im too lazy to constantly straighten it so i throw it up and it doesnt look right. now its taking forever to grow back and i miss it being long. so if i were you i would angle and layer it up to a little above the center of your back because its manageable and i think long hair makes you feel sexier. plus ppl will still be shocked you cut it. good luck hope this helps;)
