Go to a Sally Beauty Supply. Ask a sales associate the same question that you just asked on here, and tell her that you want to use Ion Creme Color and Ion Developer for sensitive scalp. You have to buy the color and developer separate, but the price averages out the same as going to Wal-Mart and buying that chemically loaded harsh hair dye that they sell. She will be able to help you choose your color because most of them are cosmetologists working through beauty school. Make sure to get a pair of gloves, like 99 cents. And something to mix it in and with. I promise that the girl at Sally will be able to help you with all of your needs and you will be MUCH happier with your color results. The color lasts longer than drugstore color and it leaves your hair shiny and soft. I color my own hair and have been advised by cosmetologists everywhere that the ION brand is the best thing that you can buy without a cosmetologist's license. Hope this helps!

Sorry, but that really depends on your hair! You'll have to shop around to really get the one to work best with your hair and that will take time. For now, try a brand that also has shampoos and conditioners specifically for color-treated hair. Using the same brand consistently will usually give you better results. I usually dye my hair red but I use Feria, which works really well. The color sticks well past when your hair grows out. My hair is still a really vibrant red even after 3 or so months :) However, you may want a lighter type of product since you are blonde. Try a semi-permenant dye that will be less harsh to your hair. You may have to touch it up sooner but it won't cause as much damage. Your friend, just because it's her first time may also want to use a semi-permenant dye. She won't be able to go much lighter at all and it won't last as long but, if she likes it, she can use a permanent dye when she gets touch-ups. Hope this helps!

clairol was the first brand ever to create an at home hair coloring system. so they know it better than anyone. you wont have any problem darkening your hair as for your friend..if she has color on her hair already you NEED a hair lightener (bleach) and not just a box color. 'clairol frost and tip' is a lightener but it doesnt have enough product for the entire head. just highlights(but you still get alot of them) if she has vergin hair it will color fine.

If your friend wants to die her hair light blonde, use born blonde. It amazing.
