How do i make my hair look and feel soft and silky?

Straight Ironing your hair will make it super duper soft and silky. I also use this brand of hair balm called "Silk Therapy". Smells great and makes my hair soooooo soft. Also, I got this tip from a black friend though I hadn't tried it. He said that conditioner made for black ppl is the toughest conditioners around. That might be worth a shot. Good luck.

GIRL you are like my twin. I know EXACTLY how you feel. My hair is exactly like yours and I spent years and thousands on worthless products until I found the Ayurvedic hair secret!! We shouldn't use products intended for whites on our hair because our hair is different ( and better if you ask me). This is what I do- I saw you live in California so go to a store like Ralph's or Whole Foods or a drug store and find " Kirk's Castille Bar Soap" in the body soap isle. It's sold in 1 and 3 bar packs. Then use it to make your own ayurvedic shampoo: Grate 1 bar of castile soap into a bowl with a vegetable grater ( it's easy to clean off) Then bring 1 quart of water to a boil in a saucepan with 3 heaping tablespoons of dried rosemary ( helps your hair to be soft and black and shiny) for twenty minutes on med. heat. Then strain the tea and pour while hot onto the soap flakes and stir with a wooden spoon to dissolve. Let cool and when cool pour into a clean bottle. IT LASTS FOREVER and it performs better and far exceeds that crap that they rip us off with in the store! And get this: YOU DON'T EVEN NEED A CONDTIONER!!!!!! Makes since cause no one used one untill like 20 years ago! After washing hair mix equal parts olive and coconut oil together and store it in a bottle as well. Apply some of this mixture to damp or wet hair after washing it or dry hair to style it. Comb through from roots to ends, braid hair in two to 4 braids and let hair air dry. Use Head And Shoulders Shampoo With Conditoioner =D

Get that hairdressing look by simply using a nourishing conditioner (mid length to ends). Put the conditioner on dry hair, wrap in cling wrap and go sit in the sun or some where warm for 30 minutes. Then wash out and shampoo lightly and condition as usual.

try rinsing your hair(after shampooing and conditioning) with really cold water. if that dosent help maybe you have a lot of build up in your hair,try using a half apple cider vinegar and water mixture, not too often and maybe that will help

firstly, if you haven't already gotten them, get layers. I got them today, and then i washed, straightened and blow dried my hair again. Blow drying is a breeze because hair becomes really thin (yet volumized at the crown of your head) and straightening is so simple. that goes for the silky bit. I did all this stuff (and the stuff below) and my hair is the best it's ever been. and, most important: use a MOISTURIZING shampoo and conditioner (especially conditioner). condition everyday, shampoo at MOST every 2 days. Squeeze the SMALLEST drop of baby oil (i know, i know, just hear me out) and rub it at the ends of your hair, working up. do not rub it near or on your roots, because that will make your hair super greasy looking. and your hair should come out soft make sure though, that you do not use a lot of baby oil, and here are reasons why you should be very cautious: 1. it can be make your hair greasy 2. the smell could be over powering 3. it could make your hair feel sticky, greasy, unpleasant, ect. hope i helped! by the way, if none the above work for you (or any of the other answers) go to your hairdresser (or hairhouse warehouse) and ask them about getting your hair soft and silky.
