  Carole Jackson's books are about which clothing colours complement your whole complexion - skin, hair and eye colours. Her idea is that you can wear all of the colours, it just depends on the brightness/dullness, depth/paleness, and warmth/coolness (yellow undertone/blue undertone) of the colour and also the amount of contrast between your clothing colours. The type of complexion you have determines what these properties of colour should be for your clothes. There are different kinds of brunette, blonde and red hair according to the above colour properties, so the colour properties in your clothes which suit different kinds will vary. There are other similar books with similar or different systems, but Jackson was the original author on this concept and she took it from the discoveries of colour theorist Johannes Itten.
