When saturated air is warmed, what happens?

What happens to the water vapor in saturated air as the air cools?

  • You guys rock!! Heres another hopefully you can help.

  • Answer:

As the water vapor cools along with the air, it begins to go into a liquid state and will collect on anything it can, usually dust particles in the air. From there, it depends on the amount of water and the air temperature whether you will get dew, rain or snow.

it condenses out as dew or if there is enough dirt in the air--fog

It flows toward the ground. Heat rises, and water finds its own level. So, when hot water vapor ends up dissipating, it is actually cooling(as compared to its surroundings)therefore it flows downward as compared to other thermal air which is rising in altitude.

kaptainkirk62

it solidifies. the phase changes from gas to liquid to solid as the temperature lowers.

it would probably fall to the earth as rain or snow depending on the temp

miker6565

the saturated air when cooled, results in the loss of water content in the air.or we can say that the water holding capacity of the air decreases.this results in the formation of dew from the water vapour previously present in the air.the temprature where the first drop of dew is formed is called the dew point temprature. thus the water vapour present in the air condenses and forms dew.
