Do peoples in Paris, France play sports?

How does thw weather/climate affect the sports that France play?

  France has a maritime temperate climate and it doesn't affect very much the sports practiced. They are mostly what is seen in other countries. But if you wonder about the effect of the global warming: Half a century ago, skating on rivers was common in the very north of France, Belgium and The Netherlands. Now you hardly see skating outside. In Norway and Sweden, cross-country skiing is not only a sport but a popular activity for everyone during the winter. But these last years, less and less people ski and they younger generation often doesn't own their ski as they did before. In Norway, the cradle of the ski sport, the ski resorts along the coast are disappearing one after the other. There isn't enough snow. You have to go up in the mountains to find a proper skiing ground. ... but, this takes us far away from France, your initial question.
