How do severe storms and tornadoes form?

Tornadoes and Tropical Storms similarities?

  • The similarities between tornadoes and tropical storms?? Help!!!

  • Answer:

The require moisture and they are supported by low pressure. Those are the only similarities I can think of. Tropical storms are driven by latent heat of condensation combined with low wind shear and a strong low pressure system. (wind shear is the change in wind speed or direction with height) Tornadoes are driven by Supercell thunderstorms turning a horizontally spinning column of air into a vertically spinning column. (wind shear is important) The low pressure supporting a tornado is caused by bouyancy of an air parcel being lifted through the troposphere.
