How do tornadoes form & do they connect with other weather?
-
I've seen Monster storms on Tele before but some people say nobody has any idea how they form or why they form and some say they already know!
-
Answer:
People who say this are wrong. These storms follow a precise model that can be reproduced in an experiment. I went to storm spotter school, and they showed us computer models about it. They follow a regular pattern with warm moist air colliding with cooler dry air, which produces storms that can spawn tornadoes. The storm itself has a gust front, a rain curtain, and then hail, followed by an updraft that can create the funnel cloud. It's very very predictable.

They form when basically warmer air is coming from one direction and cooler air is coming from the other direction and when they meet in the middle it is not pretty!!! Watch storm chasers on TV they will tell this in technical terms....
