How do severe storms and tornadoes form?

Im hungarian and Hungary is surrounded with mountains, even though can we have storms and tornadoes?

  It is not impossible, but quite rare for them there. The main reasons are unlike Oklahoma the atmosphere there does not normally get nearly as unstable thus vertical motions in whatever storms that do occur there are usually weaker. Also the mountainous terrain in your area tends to disrupt the low level air flow which acts to weaken or destroy any low-level wind shear, which is usually needed to initiate the rotation in the storms.
