Can hot water freeze faster than cold water?

• I think it's totally true. I even tried it myself. I don't know the exact temperatures, but it happened. I believe it's because the hot water cools down faster than the cold water. Since the molecules in cold water are slowed down, so is the cooling process. But with hot water since the molecules are active and it's already in the process of cooling, it does, in fact, freeze faster.

  experiment your self. Put one tray of hot waterin the freezer and then one tray of cold water, with a glass door and a termal temp gage with some from of clock to watch and time it. Yet it depends on a few points, your question isn't specified. You could put one tray of cold water in an extremely cold freezer and put another in a less then cold yet still cold freezer and waht have you is inheriently one does cool faster then the other.
