  • my husband is the only one working right now and we have a nine month old daughter who he is great with. he is a wonderful husband and father so i wanted to do something for him for fathers day. the only thing is i dont make an income so i dont want to spend any money, if i do it will be sort of like im getting him a gift with his own money. so does anyone have any crafty ideas on what i can do for him that is literally priceless (costless) from me and our daughter?

Make him his favorite meal and allow your daughter to help. Or find a favorite photo of your daughter and husband and help her decorate a frame to put the picture in. Make some homemade cards as they always mean more than store bought ones.

its not "his money" i am a stay at home mom and if he paid me for all the stuff i do i would be making more than him. anyway i am sure thats not the question... do something with her hand prints or make a cd with a bunch of daddy/daughter songs. good luck finding a good idea!

Make him his very favorite dinner, with everything he likes. Make a homemade card with a photo of him and her in it nad her handprints in it. You could also make a t-shirt with her handprints on it saying happy father's day. Just let him know that he is very appreciated and treat him like your king. Good luck!

make a big sign, you and your daughter that says happy fathers day give her those my first crayons and let her color away even though she is not quite a year and if he works on fathers day right before he gets home hang it outside and let him drive up and see it. Or make him a cake and you and your daughter decorate it even though it will get messy he will probably think its the cutest thing.

How about making him some homemade chocolate candy or fudge. You probably already have most of the ingredients in your pantry cupboard. There are simple and delicious recipes at http://www.chocolate-candy-mall.com/homemade-chocolate-candy-recipes.html That will a homemade card would be lovely and would probably not make much of a dent at all in the finances. The idea of tracing the baby's hand print and foot print on the card is a good one. Maybe you could make it a tradition each year to do that and compare them. :) Might be a bit difficult to get her to do it when she's 14 - ha ha. Have fun!

my daughter always gives her daddy one of her stuffed animals for his bdays and fathers day have her pick a toy to give to daddy so daddy can have fun with it (my daughter was picking out her own clothes at 6 mos just by her choosing the first thing she grabbed and now that she is 2 i'm happy i started that so early as she is good at making decisions now) anything you get him he will love especially if she picked it out

Well, for next yr, get a portait of the 2 of you made at Wal-mart. It's sooo cheap there. ( I don't think you can get them back in time now) You could always get someone to take a few of the 2 of you and get a really cute " DAddy " or "family" frameor make one that says " Daddy's First Father's Day ".They sell those at any place that sells crafts. Or even a small scrapbook with pics in it of all of you. Also, plaster mold kits are really cheap and so cute. You could do your daughter's handprints and date it "Father's Day 2007". These ideas are pretty inexpensive and it's something sentimental that he can keep in honor of his first Father's DAy. My husband loves homemade cakes and thinks it's really thoughtful since I spent my own time on it instead of just buying it.It's his first father's day too, only I am pregnant and my 4 yr old is his stepson. So I am kind of up in the air too. Good luck to you, hope the ideas help !

Here's something creative that will be appreciated and you will have fun doing: Make up a crossword puzzle and have all the hints be personal inside moments and jokes that only you two would know about your daughter. Put it on a poster board and add some clipart and some pictures to it! The crossword puzzle could be time consuming and a bit frustrating ... you could do the same idea with a WORDSEARCH or WORDFIND puzzle. Put your computer skills to work! Use Excel, get clipart from Yahoo Images Search, copy them, and reformat them, use a gluestick to put on posterboard. Use graph paper, and pictures from magazines if you are not as good on the computer, and it will give it a homemade feeling.
