What is French for "entitled?

Maternity Pay what am I entitled to if I leave?

  • Hi all, Have a slight dilemma and don't know what to do or what I am entitled to. I have been on maternity leave now for 20 weeks and already know that I will not be returning to work due to my husbands work moving us back to Germany. What I would like to know is if I should hand my notice on now do I lose any further payments of maternity pay? I have a feeling that it has somehow already got back to my manager that we will be leaving the U.K. in 3 months time and feel horrible about that but I'm sure you all understand that we really need that extra money at the moment and I am scared that I will my maternity payments stopped. Can anyone please advise me on whether I should inform my work and if so what maternity am I then entitled to? Thanks in advance

  • Answer:

When you receive your last payment for maternity leave, notify your employer, in writing, that you will not be returning to work.

Totally agree with Jodi D.

As long as you are not leaving to work for someone else then you are still entitled to your maternity pay. You are still entitled to it even if you never intend to go back when you go on maternity leave, which was the case with me, everyone knew I would not be returning but I was still entitled to my full maternity pay. Even moving abroad does not affect your entitlement as it is based on the work you have already done for the company.
