Unfortunately as the mother is the one that carries the baby, she has the final say

Your son does not have automatic parental responsibility, but there are several ways he can gain these. As I don't know which part of the UK you are from I have provided a link from the direct gov explaining the different countries criteria(hope it helps) If your son does gain parental responsibilities he would have to be included in any decisions regarding the future of any child. He wouldn't have to adopt as he would "legally" be the parent. If the Mother "didn't want the child" once born, your son could offer(as someone with parental responsibility) to look after the child. Any legal decisions by courts , social services etc. will always have the best interests of the child in mind. And it is often deemed appropriate to place any child with family where possible and appropriate. Good Luck.

She will have to sign her rights over to him. But she will not be able to give her child up for adoption to someone if he does not approve. He will have to prove hes the father but the choice is her if she wants to keep the baby with her or let you and your son take the baby. She could change her mind after delivering the baby and want it.

Legally, no. She's carrying it. She makes the decisions. It's her body.

Ooh dodgy, unfortunately if she does not want the child then its her body and is legally entitled to abort if she chooses. Of course the longer she leaves it the worse it will be for everyone concerned but again its her decision. As an unwed father your son has little rights but even less since the baby is not born yet and its the mothers word whether the baby is actually his. All you can do is abide by her decision, since he never married her. There is a lot to be said for being married dont you think ?

This is a question that needs to be discussed with a lawyer. They were not married, so I really couldn't say where he stands in this kind of situation.
