How would I go about becoming a midwife?

How do you go about becoming a midwife?

  • I have no prior nursing qualifications and I live in Wales in the U.K. This is something I have always wanted to do, but am in the dark as to how you go about it. I am almost 25, the reason I say this is incase you thought I was a school leaver. I would also like to know: How long it can take, How much I would have to pay and What is the regular pay for a hospital based / community based midwife. Thank-you

  • Answer:

hope this helps. http://www.careers-guide.com/job-choices/midwife.htm Look at the universities you wish to go for websites/perspectus as they will be more specific about entry requiements etc. http://www.nmc-uk.org/aArticle.aspx?ArticleID=3619 this is the nursing and midwifery council website and gies course links. Also tells you about funding and financial support.
