Considering Conceiving: Any really great recommended books?
-
I know there are a million books to read after you actually ARE pregnant, but what about before? What about books on topics like "so, you think you want to be a parent?" Those kinds of books are what I am looking for. I am also a Christian, if it matters, the books can be religious-based or not, it doesn't matter too much. Something you've actually read from experience or a book you wish you'd read before becoming pregnant would also be great. Or also, books that say things you should think about... financially, physically, experiential wisdom, spiritually, emotionally, between you and your spouse, etc. OR, even books on what to do if your husband is the one who wants to be pregnant sooner than you do... ;) Thanks!

Answer:
If your husband wants to be pregnant, tell him to go right ahead. Unless, of course, he's looking for insemination himself, in which case, you have a problem. Otherwise, here's some books: http://www.amazon.com/Childfree-Books/lm/VQMJ6SB0H8NU

the #1 best book, is 'What to expect when you're expecting' if you don't like what the book says, then you may not be ready for prego-land :o) good luck!

Im not a mother but I found a very old book in my basement which i believe was titeled "What to expect for motherhood." it comes with almost a "scrapbook" and you fill it out when the baby is born to look back on when they are older. when I opened the book, my heart melted as i read my name and saw my little footprint. I was truly touched. I am not sure of the title but e-mail me at [email protected] and i will have the title ready and waiting. :-) ~p.s. congradulations!~

I'd do a search on Amazon.com or borders.com for pregnancy/conception books. There's also the "for dummies" series that has "Parenting for Dummies" and "An Idiot's Guide to Parenting". There are so many books out there. There are books on how to increase your chances of a boy or girl. I personally didn't read any books when I was pregnant or before. The important lessons you don't learn from books. You learn from real-life.
