Whats wrong with kids these days?

  • so im 14 years old and im just cant stand kids today. almost all the so called "popular" girls that go to my school dress like total sl*ts and theyre always putting on make up on or brushing their hair in class. out of all the kids i know, i would only say about 2 or 3 of them dont cuss. kids think theyre so cool, and they have no respect for others and have no morals it seems like. most kids i know just go to school and play on their iphones and dont even listen to the teacher, some smoke pot, and since i could i walk i would play outside everyday with friends until i was about 12 and we would do everything from 15 mile bike rides, to wiffleball tournaments to basketball and since i was about 12 nobody ever comes outside and all everybody does is play videogames and never come outside or anything and all kids talk about at school is videogames and some kids even went on the computer at school to watch porn. i just miss the good days of playing outside everyday when i got home from school but now i can only play baseball since i play on a travel team and other than that i can only play sports in gym. also kids are always listening to terrible music and they look up to pot smoking, terrible people like rappers. im just fed up with kids these days....anbody else?? i just wish i could of grown up in a more innocent time without a bunch of technology like the 1950s. also, my neighbors who are like 7 never come outside and all they do is play videogames. does anbody else feel like kids will like never really play outside again?? i guess im lucky i got to expierience a liottle bit of playing outside when i was a kid. i guess ill just have to wait till i get to heaven for good times again. whats your opinion on kids these days?? sorry for the long question.

Lol can't agree more. What you need to do is deal with all the phonie's and *****head's you encounter and really set the bar high. You're definitely on the right track to becoming a successful adult, that's for sure so stay the course, but have some fun too(when you're old enough, experiment with alcohol, go to vegas, get a credit card maybe) stuff like that so you don't miss out completely....you gotta live a little ;) But you obviously know who you are and you will have no problem being that person. Pass that on to your kid's someday. Continue to be a sheep herder and not a sheep. Keep on keepin' on, kiddo. Cheers.

You are 14. You need to grow up too. You dont "play outside" anymore alright. just a tip. Anyways, with technology and the internet, most kids know what more than what kids would have known in the 50s. I doubt 14 year olds knew what porn was back then. I usually hang out with my friends outside in the summer and stuff but other than that, your right im usually inside. I play sports though, which you could do if you want to get outside. And also, you shouldnt stereotype the people that smoke pot. Do like 15 minutes of research and you will find out that its not even bad for you. Dont judge things so quickly. And yeah kids will play outside, i mean i have cousins and kids always have recess and stuff. You seem sorta depressed. Just find something you enjoy doing and dont worry about the people you dont like.

I miss it too, but popular culture has brought up children to believe that trashy things and ruining their lives is the correct way forward. By nominating and putting people like Ke$ha, Miley Cyrus, and many other uncontrollable and not necessarily appropriate people as young children's idols, children are inspired to copy and become who they admire. You also have to remember that technology has changed our viewpoints- Mommy can let Sesame Street teach her kids and babysit them for her while she does whatever the heck she wants, and eventually, as the parents are less responsible, the child will grow past Sesame street, an unsubstantial source of moral values (Sesame Street is great, but you can't substitute life lessons and wisdom from a real person with a TV show!) and the kid will look past their parents to the aforementioned people as role models and continue to work in bars and chain restaurants.

It's okay. You'll make some new good friends. Don't give up. The popular culture sure has a great impact on youth. It can either be slightly beneficial or so degrading you never know. Just steer away from these kids and be yourself. It's okay to be alone for a while.
