  • can the gynecologist prescribe clomid ? i have an opoin. next month, my period is inconsistant eather every 30 days every 34 . Im also trying to concieve, i dont know if i should go on clomid , go on birth control to regulate it or what? any advice

    Yes they can prescribe clomid...they can monitor you as well...you have to have a blood test done on the 21st day of your cycle to see if the clomid is working

Yes the gynecologist can prescribe clomid. If you want to get pregnant I would go with clomid but if you are only trying to regulate your periods try the birth control first.

Clomid is prescribed if you have been trying to conceive for a long period of time or if you have gone through all of the necessary testing. They don't just prescribe it if you want it. Clomid does help regulate periods to an extent. My friend was having her period every other week and then was put on clomid. Now she has a 35 day cycle. So it doesn't necessarily shorten your cycle. I would consult with you gyno and see what he/she says. If you just want regulation, then go with the birth control.

If you just want to regulate an irregular period, birth control will help, but there could be some other medical problem, so be sure to give your doctor all the information about what you have been experiencing.
