Whats the cost to have a baby in the states?

  • Im not living in the states but i would like to have my baby in cleveland ohio ( when i do get pregnant lol) where my mom lives, does anyone knows what the hospital fee is or would approximately be? i just need an idea. my mom has been living there for over 5 years now- she is a resident. Also how soon would i have to travel over from my country? thx in advance

    My hospital bill was around $16,000. I think if you want the same doctor and consistent care throughout your pregnancy, you should come over as soon as you find out you're pregnant. Otherwise, I say come over around 30 weeks. Most airlines will not let pregnant women fly when they're 36 weeks or later.

It varies between states, hospitals, doctors, the birth itself, etc. There's no way to give you a dollar figure. I had a vaginal delivery with no complications, was released after 24 hours, and my hospital bill was over $10k (thank goodness for insurance).
