Can I get the full custody of my kid if proven that the father had abandoned us from the very start?
-
Me and my friend had a sexual affair when I was still with my boyfriend and 2 weeks after I left my boyfriend I had my menstruation and me and my friend had an intercourse 2 weeks after my menstruation. And now I am 3 months pregnant and my friend told me he doesn't want anything that has to do with me but he's gonna be there for the kid. And he was also trying to convince me to abort when it was only 2 months but I told him from the very start that abortion was never my option. He was trying to make me feel so bad and he was telling me all kinds of stuff so I'll agree on aborting it but I don't want to because the baby is innocent and it was our mistake so, we have to deal with it. And plus i didn't put a gun on his head to do it, we both wanted what we did and now I'm pregnant he is trying to get away with it. He kept saying it's not his but with the calculation I know that he is the father cause I know the date when we did it. And I didn't have anybody else except him. Now, we don't have communication. We see each other at work but we don't talk. He doesn't ask me if I'm okay or what. He just don't care at all. He also went for training with the marines but he came back that I didn't even hear anything from him. He's basically abandoning his unborn child. So, the question is when my baby comes out and the DNA comes out and I take the father to court do I get the full custody because he abandoned us from the very start? and also i want him to support the baby and be responsible, just in case something's gonna happen to me and I can't take care of my babies needs. Are they gonna be in favor of me in court?

Answer:
You will most likely get full custody, but the father may be allowed visitation rights like every other weekend if he chooses. He is paying for the child, and he has rights to it. Generally they will only disallow visitation in the event the child is in danger of harm or abuse from the father(or mother if it's the other way around). If he absolutely does not want custody rights, it doesn't matter, and he will still have to pony up the cash.
