Do you know anything about Michigan Connections Academy?

Hello, am 30 years old and am need help finding a way to pay for Invitro.?

  • I am 30 years old and am currently in my 5th year teaching. I moved to Columbia, SC in 2005 when I was hired at my first school and moved here to Las Vegas, NV in August 2009. I currently teach for Connections Academy. We are an online, public, K-12 school that exists all over the United States. I have a BA in English Language and Literature, a M.Ed. in Education, Instructional Technology and a M.Ed. in Education, Divergent Learning. I love learning and am especially interested in the neurology of learning. I taught in a school for children who were in Juvenile Jail and the psych ward or drug rehab for one reason or another. This is what got me interested in the neurology of learning and teaching students with disabilities; at this school every child was labeled MH, LD, ED, or MD. I have found that I have a gift with students who other teachers can’t seem to reach. It may be because I went through school facing a lot of the same issues as they did; I have dyslexia and ADD. I had to teach myself how I learn; because I knew school was my only way out of WV and no one else cared if it was harder for me. On another note, I am also a writer and have a published Novella "The Echoes of Life" and am currently working on publishing a book of poetry and writing a serial killer novel. I have dedicated my entire life to helping children in any way I can. I started college Pre-Med and thought I was going to be a pediatric neurologist. My High Scholl Guidance Counselor told me I wasn't going to be a Doctor that I would end up a Teacher. I laughed at her. I was Pre-med for 2 years and all of my electives were English classes. At the end of my sophomore year I saw my first cadaver; this was a life changing event for me, I knew I could not cut on a cadaver. I immediately switched my major to English Language and Literature. When I graduated with my bachelors in English I realized you could not do anything with it. So I enrolled in Law school, I was going to do child and family law. It took me 3 week to determine I hated it, to me everyone was trying their hardest to make you look bad and make themselves look better. Subsequently I worked in a group home with Adults whom had severe Mental and Physical disabilities, for two years. After I was there a month I started teaching at the school my clients would attend during the day. This got me thinking about teaching. I looked into programs and started at American InterContinental University, where I got my M.Ed. in Education, Instructional Technology. Once I finished my degree I was hired in SC and moved in July of 05. My first day teaching I thought I had made a huge mistake, I was nervous and scared; until the students came. By 10 minutes into my first class I knew this is exactly what I should have been doing the whole time. Due to the dedication to teaching and my upbringing that I needed to be careful until I was in the right position to have children I put it off. Then I got sick and was dignosed with PID. My fallopian tubes were destroyed and shortly after I was diagnosed with Endometriosis and Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and have gone through a lot of testing, procedures and had surgery. It has been determined that I have to have IVF to get pregnant. Furthermore, my egg count is decreasing rapidly so I have to start soon. I have wanted kids since I was 10 and started babysitting. My entire life is about children and I really am scared that it may not happen. I am trying every mean possible to come up with financing. I may have a lot of degrees and have been teaching 5 years but I don’t make a salary comparable to other teachers in Nevada. Furthermore when the economy went bad my boyfriends business dried up. When I was transferred to Nevada he found a job with a local sign company making $21 an hour. However 1 week after we arrived they called and told him their contracts got froze and they wouldn’t have work till November. November turned into February, and in February they quit calling and returning calls. My fiance got a job at the local gas station in March after months of applying and interviewing everywhere. So all of our savings are gone and I have quite a lot of debt. It is like in the last two years everything that could go wrong has. I’m working with a finance counselor now and trying to get us back to where we should be, however, it will take a while to pay the debt. We can afford a child and I will give up everything I have in order to do so. I can’t keep putting this off just because my situation isn’t perfect. I have looked all over but cannot find where or how to get help. I applied for a medical loan but was denied. If you know any other resources you are willing to share with me I am more than willing to accept them and would appreciate it immensely. Thank you,

  • Answer:

Do you have insurance? Have you tried applying for medicaid? You apply at your local social security office. They go by your income. Thats all I can think of...I also have PCOS but I am 19 and my hubby is 20. Goodluck && God bless you.
