Did we miss ovulation or was this close enough?

Ovulation Predictor Kit-showed faint line first 2 days then no line. Did I miss my ovulation day?

  • My husband and I are trying for our second child. The first pregnancy wasn't planned so this will be the first time we are "tryng to conceive." I used to have regular periods but now they seem irregular. 2 months ago they were 28 days and last month they were 31. Got my period on the 5th of this month and felt that I was ovulating (sharp pain on one side of abdomen plus change in CM) on Sunday (the 12th). All the ovulation calendars say that I shouldn't be ovulating until the 19th. So on Monday I bought an ovulation predictor kit. I got a faint line on Monday and Tuesday. Then I took it again this morning and there was no line just the control one. I know the faint lines don't mean that it's positive but I was wondering if I may have missed it? Any help would me much appreciated. Thanks

There are two possibilities... You may have had your lh spike Tuesday afternoon or evening and it was gone by this morning. Which means you will ovulate sometime between now and this evening. In that case....get to it girl! Or... The test may have been too sensitive for your lh levels. I personally can not use opk because my lh levels are higher then normal, meaning I always show a slight pink line. This happens to lots of women. So in that case you can either try a differnt opk (some are less sensative) or you can try charting your basal body and cervical mucus. Best of luck and baby dust to you!

i am in the same boat as you...ttc #2...and having a hard time with the stupid OPKs !! I just ordered the clear blue easy fertility monitor. I have gotten excellent reviews for it...coz it takes out this human error.....or faint line/noline etc. If you have any other questions...i would love to correspond with you....my email is [email protected] Good luck.....

It seems we are all in the same boat this month. I was experiencing the same thing-- I had a lighter line (then the one to be compared with). and the next day it became lighter and so it was for the next 3 days. If you find the answer, please let us all know. Wish you the best of luck.
