Does food taste different in early pregnancy?

Can very early pregnancy cause food to taste odd?

  • its still early so i dont want to test yet. im just watching what it happening with my body that was not like that before. this morning i made me breakfast, i had french toast, with some syrup, well the syrup tasted sour and the french toast had no taste. but everyone elts says it tasted good. can this be normal or could something elts cause this?

    Yes when i was only 3 weeks pregnant i wanted orange Popsicles and there were some foods that just made my stomach turn. The Popsicles is what clued me into me being pregnant

You can have changes in your sense of taste during pregnancy, particularly having a metallic taste in your mouth. Personally, I couldn't stand the taste of chocolate during the first trimester. But that doesn't mean you're pregnant. Lots of other things affect taste as well, like a cold coming on.
