Missed period. Negative test. What do I do next?

I'm 20 years old and my normal cycle is between 32-35 days. On day 38, when my period had not come yet, i took a home pregnancy test. It was negative. The next two days i cramped a little like my period was going to come, but it didn't. Today is day 41 and i took another test that also came up negative. I'm not sure if i should shrug this off as just a missed period (i've never missed a period before) or see a doctor for a blood test to be sure. I'm also unsure of what kind of doctor i need to see, do i need to see and Gynecologist or just a doctor?

I'm in the same boat. Not quiet as far out as you (I'm at day 37) but still have the neg preg test. But last time I was preg (which I miscarried) I was 8 weeks preg before I got a positive test. Some people just take longer. I would contact your doctor for a blood test (much more accurate). Plus it usually takes a few days to get in to the dr. anyway. Good luck!

I would say wait another week and then do another test. If it is still negative make an appointment with your regular doctor, if he/she thinks it is necessary they will recommend you go to a gynecologist. I hope all goes well for you.
