What Is Implantation Bleeding?

Implantation Bleeding on cycle day 11? What do you think?

  • So with my first son I had what I believe to be implantation bleeding, it was only a litte and only happened once when I wiped. This happened on cycle day 12. We are now TTC our second and I think it's happened again! Same scenario but 1 day earlier! (cycle day 11) What do you think? Could this really be implantation bleeding or maybe just coinidence? If it is implantation bleeding then on what cycle day do I ovulate on? Wouldn't it seem a bit early? And finally when should I test!!!??? Thanks! :)

  • Answer:

You get implantation bleeding 6-12 days AFTER you've already ovulated. You must ovulate to release an egg and some women experience bleeding/spotting, "implantation" about a week when the egg burries itself into the uterine wall. So, no, it's not implantation bleeding if you are only on CD 12. Ovulation usually occurs approximately 14 days after your period (for a 28 day cycle), then implantation would come a week after that (if you conceive). Test if you miss your next expected period.
