What is the difference between having scarred and blocked Fallopian tubes?

PREGNANCY AFTER BEING DIAGNOSED WITH BLOCKED FALLOPIAN TUBES?

  • In November 2008 i had a tubal recantilization done, and both tubes were open. On January 12 2008 I had a hsg to check to see if my fallopian tubes are still open. the hsg showed the the were both very blocked an that no dye went into my tubes. now the weirdest thing happened I found out 3 days ago that I am 5 weeks pregnant. I'm scared because my tubes are suppose to be blocked at the proximal end. I haven't had a ultrasound. and i'm scared that it may be ectopic. has anyone ever had this happen to them.

This is more common than doctors tell you, what happens is during the HSG the fallopian tubes spasm and constrict and it blocks the dye. Therefore it looks like your tubes are blocked, when in reality, they were just spasming. Congratulations and Happy and Healthy Nine Months!!
