Will My Doc Prescribe Me Clomid?

Would my doctor let me have clomid now?

  • ive been checked and i appear to have good egg reserve and my hormones are fine, my hubby got tested and he is satisfactory but not brilliant, its 97% abnormal sperm and 56% viable. the doctor wasnt too concerned though. would my gp offer me clomid due to these results? we have been ttc for 3 yrs and im 38 now... help plz also any idea how to get my doc to prescribe me somethin to help us fall preg. i am runnign out of time!

  • Answer:

97% abnormal and 56% viable sperm and the doctor is not concerned about that? That could mean that only 1.5% of his sperm are any good! It only takes one, but there is a reason that out of the MILLIONS that are ejaculated, only a few hundred make it to where they need to be...... Anyway, given your age and your husbands semen analysis, it seems like you need to be more aggressive with your treatment. Clomid maybe, but I'm thinking more that you need something to help on the sperm side of it - maybe IUI or even IVF. Your doctor is the best one to talk to.

Clomid is prescribed to help a woman ovulate who doesn't. It wont help your mans sperm. Thats where the help is needed unless you made a typo and it should say 97% Normal.
