As a parent, do you find it helpful when looking for childcare if the center or family daycare has a website?
-
I'm trying to find out how parents feel about child care facilities having a website. What do you think and why is it helpful or why not.

Answer:
Yes~ We've been looking for a child care facility near us. I got online to do research before we made visits to pick up, but hardly any have sites!!! It's so frustrating! I also think it's great when they do because the daycare workers/preschool teachers can post pictures of student's art work, what the kids are learning, funny stories/ quotes. I know when I taught preschool at a day care I loved having our site so the parents could see what their kids were doing on a day to day basis. I think for working parents a site makes it so much easier to remain involved in your childs daily education.

I think it makes it a lot easier for parents. Most people want to find out as much about a business/organization as possible without having to talk to anyone. It shows that you know convinience is a priority for parents who might not have time to call. Post pictures of facilities or anything special that stands you apart from competition. Have an 'FAQ' section, all info like phone numbers, business hours, locations, and maybe even testimonials from other parents.

The babies do need that, right? Want to confirm the lies they told on that site? Only trust what you know, the rest must be taken with a pinch of salt. Peace.

I'm not a parent, but as part of my child care course I had to find information on day care centres etc to help plan my own, and I found that some of the day care centres I had seen/heard about didn't have a website, and if they did, it wasn't that easy to navigate around, or wasn't very insightful. I think that websites are helpful because you can look around at them without much effort, it is free (if you go to a library) and it saves having to talk to people who may not know what they should on the phone, or in person.
time for change.
I'm a babysitter... and I have my own personally created website!!! Check it out... and I totally think that a website provides some upfront information before going to see it.
