Studying? benefits? toddler?

  • hi i left university at the end of my first year and had my daughter, who is now nearly two, im currently a SAHM on benefits, im looking to go back to university, i was doing a biology degree but i want to train to be a teacher, does anybody know if i go back to studying will my benefits stop? can i get help to pay childcare? does anyone have experience of this or know where i can find out? maybe i should wait until the little one starts school, but i cant just sit around until then! im almost 22 btw. thanks!

  • Answer:

You could always look into online classes or meet with the university advisers and explain your situation to see if you might be able to take some independent studies courses. Also, check into scholarships..some are just random drawings. Our electric company gives 1000$ each year to a customer or a customers child who is in school. There are so many out there where all you have to do is just apply. Also many universities have on site child care for really reasonable rates. And an added benefit is you can check in on your lil one between classes. There are always loans and grants available for school as well. I dont know if going back to school will effect any benefits, but I guess you can call whoever you get them through to ask. I dont see why it would though...
