Do I have bad breath if I have tonsillitis?

How often does tonsillitis present without fever in a 2 year old?

  • My daughter is 26 months...she was seen in the er for other issues about 3 weeks ago, and while being looked at the doctor commented on her swollen tonsils, yet never mentioned anything about tonsillitis. I decided to look it up and what I found was: "Common symptoms: Refusing to eat; irritable; sore throat; swollen, bright red tonsils sometimes flecked with white. Sometimes: Ear pain or pulling on ears; bad breath; snoring; fever; swollen glands; laryngitis; headache; drooling." She is having issues eating, complaining of pain, especially when anything goes near her mouth, she's been very irritable, her breath is terrible, even with regular brushing, and snoring is an every night all night issue. The throat pain seems to be worse today, however there is no fever. I plan on calling her doctor tomorrow as it is too late to do so tonight, but does anyone have any advice? Does anyone think this is tonsillitis?

  • Answer:

I had tonsillitis on and off for years, and never had a fever with it. Only symptoms I had was horrible sore throat, and swollen red tonsils. Sounds to me like she has it.
