Can somebody help me introduce myself in portuguese?

Confused and needing help , all leapfrog and v reader ?

  • I am trying to introduce my lil 3 year old to reading for the very first time, he is a preschooler and has still not learned his alphabets yet. I have not exposed him to any of the leap frog reading systems before. Here is my dilemma, should I first start him off with the leap pad tag junior reading system or is it ok to begin him with the leap pad and v reader? I looked at both the v reader and leap pad and am impressed. However I am completely new to this, my son being my first kid, and I am trying to get a grasp on what each of these toys actually do. I do not know whether its required for him to actually start with the leap frog junior books and move on to the leap pad types? Also when I saw the leap pad , it looked like it could only read books without actual video just like the leap frog tag systems but the v reader seemed to be actually playing the books like a video which seemed very cool! I tried to hunt for some v reader movie type books to play in the leap pad ( of course from leap pad models) but could not find any.could somebody help me with these questions: First must I start my kid from tag junior type books? I mean is there something about them which develops some essential reading skills for the child or are they same as the leap pad in this element? second : other than the gaming, video and camera mode in leap pad, what is the difference between leap pad and v reader when it comes to ebooks? Can the leap pad play actual video stories ( not just games) like the v reader? Third : if so, can somebody suggest what are these video stories titles and where can I buy them ( not online) I know this is lengthy but I AM really confused with all that cool stuff out there and would really appreciate some help before I end up buying them all and blowing a huge load of dough on them! Thanks ever so much!

  • Answer:

The best way to teach your son to read is to read to him, everyday. A good goal is about 3-5 books that are age appropriate and read them everyday! Videos do not teach children how to read. Books teach children how to read.
