What are the words chinese say to each other during CNY?

How many words does your 22 month old say? do they put 2 words together yet?

  • how often do they talk? how clear are thier words? my son probably has about 35-40 words, but doesn't talk often at all, He babbles all the time. He my only say 5 words in a day though... he is not yet putting 2 words together, and alot of his words are very unclear... He also leaves the ending off of words all the time.

  • Answer:

My son is 2.5, and just recently started talking on a regular basis. If you're worried, don't be. If you are doing all that you can to help his speech along, then he will talk eventually. My son's vocabulary literally exploded within two days. He went from only saying a few words to putting words together. Now he's starting to form sentences. It would be much more of a concern if he didn't understand what you were asking of him.

My daughter is 21 months old. She says things like "my turn" "Hi puppy" "night night mommy" etc. She often though cant say a lot of words and leaves endings of a words too. She babbles all the time as well and it makes absolutely no sense, but is very adorable. A few words she still cant say but I know what they mean are "Sar"- star "pee"-please "pabo"- puddle "hna" - snack (it is like a nazaly n noise because she cant quite get the sn sound) She also just recently started saying her r's, but will still leave them out sometimes. She will say "Dowa" instead of Dora, but she can say car (And she puts a huge emphasis on the r part). I don't think you should be worried at all!

At this age they are just starting to say some words and new words, and prob just starting to say them clearly. But trust me they are smarter then they seem every baby is different, but around this age they can understand or know what something is better then expressing themselves through words. My son can almost say the full alphabet, count to 4, nods when he wants something if I ask him if he wants it, says nummy, baba, yes, among other 3 syllable words and is very smart BUT mostly just babbles like you said. He is 2 years old in 2 months as well but with your son it's not something you should worry about sound smart to me, just when he does his babbles respond to it every time! It will encourage him to -babble- more and will get him talking more too, you are the teacher so if your worried you could try out educational/learning dvd's, age appropriate toys/book, and get him into a class or day care with kids his own age to play with. And with my son he has his days but he is learning at his own pace and if you have concern you could mention it to your family or baby doctor as well they will help you with information or resources to help you out. Hope that helped!

at 22 months my son was about where it sounds yours is now. He had a good vocabulary just didn't use it and understood almost everything we said to him. I knew he was capable of sentences because at about 20 months he told said "Uggg you killin' me" when I wouldn't give him a snack; but he wouldn't talk much no matter how we tried to get him too. Then at about 23 months it seemed he all of a sudden just started talking more and putting together 2 and 3 word sentences. He turned 2 on April 20th and still babbles a lot during play and sometimes when he is trying to tell us something and he doesn't know the words but he can tell us and others "I want _____" ask "where's _____" and makes other simple sentences when he wants to be understood. Give him time, as long as he is communicating in some way and has at least 5 words he's "on track" :)

My daughter is 22 months (turns 2 on June 10) and she has a big vocabulary. I couldn't count the words off the top of my head but she knows the basics like everyone's name, a couple of animals, items, a few commands (please, thank you, no, yes). She can put two words together but not many. She's bilingual (Spanish + English) so she can say 'come here' in Spanish when she wants you to go where she's at, she also understands thank you. She does still babble like if she's trying to really tell you something and points a lot. She likes to say 'no no no' when you try and get her something that she doesn't want.
