What are some good play ideas for the 4th of July?

Birthday party ideas please!?

  • My daughters 4th birthday party is next sunday! It will be family, friends, and some children (mostly 3-4 years old). I need a few ideas for activities for the kids to do. We are having the party at our house. We had her birthday at our house last year, and we had water play for the kids but it was messy and people didn't want to go outside since July is the hottest month here in Texas. I am thinking we will buy large containers of ice cream (vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate) and then have decorative bowls filled with candies to 'build your own ice cream'. This way everyone can help themselves while mingling. Last year we did fajitas, which was such a pain because we had so many people here! What would be best money wise and easiest on me, Pizza or chicken nuggets and fruit? I like the finger food idea because I can put them out on trays and have the whole theme as a picnic style birthday. I am just not sure if a bunch of adults will want to eat chicken nuggets though. Also, any themes would be helpful. I am pretty crafty, but I need simple and clean ideas for the kids to do. Share your creative birthday stories, and thanks so much! :)

well lets see. u can get inspiration from here for the themes. dont worry its google images. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&xhr=t&q=little+girl+birthday+party+themes&cp=33&qe=bGl0dGxlIGdpcmwgYmlydGhkYXkgcGFydHkgdGhlbWVz&qesig=4wWV0ODhnJXFEEUATu5a_g&pkc=AFgZ2tlo4lrFZrFPS8-7NHYf1bcmpXMaECy4PUK-p6dC-ISSlXS-HRBIQbRt00XmU1WjbXd1T8B8jPYvbPWKxqES_Zv7F6FIoA&pq=little+girl+birthday+party+themes&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&biw=1024&bih=649&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi lso chicken nuggets and fruit for the kids. Hamburgers and dogs almost always work for adults. and lets face it its usually cheaper than pizza. but then again the adults need to realize they are at a kids party. so they should kind of expect nuggets. they dont like it they can kiss it. build ur own ice cream sounds a bit messy too for that age. 8-10 ok maybe. this is also a good link to some younger kids games. ive used a couple of these. The feed the ducks one seems a bit mean to me but the kids loved it last year. http://www.partygameideas.com/kids-games/index-young-children_3.php And i always got my lil boy his own personal mini cake to dive into. that way if he should dive in face first, no harm no foul, and well...its his own lil cake.
