How Can We Know That We Are Pregnant?

I just found out im pregnant. I don't know how far i am but i can't go to a doctor cause of money. what to do?

  • I have no money, really. and i pretty much can't go to a doctor because of transportation and money. I live with my boyfriend and his parents cause i have no where else to go. I heard recently that my boyfriend's father had told someone if i got pregnant he would send me back home, where i have like nowhere to go. The only way for me to stay here would be abortion. but i am strongly against it. I am starting to show a lil now, what else can i do? I don't know how far i am because i can't remember my last period but i know it has been at least 2 months. I don't know it cause i have been too stressed with different things going on. Is there another way to find how far i am?

First take a home pregnancy test, if it is positive Buy prenatal vitamins at a drugstore. Take them every day, Also try to eat healthy and avoid foods that contain the l-bacteria that causes infections in the uterus(soft cheese and deli meat are two culprits.) Also get plenty of rest. Since you have posted you took 2 tests that produced positive results go ahead and get the prenatal vitamins. To find out how far along you are you must know the date of your last period, go to a due date calculator(u can google search) put in the date and it will let you know. I have to tell you though, it is extremely important that you do see a doctor, the prenatal vitamins are a plus, but you need to save money for a visit. The doctor will listen to heartbeat, measure your stomach, moniter any problems. If you do not qualify for any type of assistance or do not have healthcare, sometimes doctors will take a hardship amount, you just have to ask. While some have said to go to the county health dept, they are very limited in their practices and you need to see an obgyn. hope this helps & good luck.

Do you have a county health dept in your area? You can go there for free, or you can go the dept of children and families and get on medicaid and then you can go to most any doctor for free. I hope you work everything out

No, not really. You need a clear LMP date or an ultrasound. I don't know where you live, but maybe there are free clinics around you could go to?

Oh hun I'm so sorry this has happened. First of all I don't really think they would kick you out if your carrying their grandchild, and if they do, I certainly wouldn't allow them the opportunity to be around that miracle in your life. You need to go apply for medicaid (all they do is confirm the pregnancy with a pregnancy test), then they will sign you up for medical treatment. Then, apply for food stamps (since you said you have little $$ this should NOT be a problem). Next, try to find a job with descent pay and contact HUD for housing options (this varies from state to state). Hopefully your boyfrind is willing to either stand up to his parents and help raise your child. If not, try for Child Support too, but my suggestion is no matter if he does or doesn;t pay NEVER hold that baby over his head. My husband's ex does, and it will only lead to resentment by the child later in life..Trust me! I wish the best for you, and don't worry about not having any place to go..if your baby is more important then you must do what you need to do

Go to Planned Parenthood. Some of the clinics offer free or low cost prenatal care. At least take prenatal vitamins. You could qualify for medicade, so your doctor visits and hospital stay are covered. Check with your local WIC (Women, Infant, Children's office). They provide vouchers for dairy, cereal, juice, etc, and when baby is born they will add vouchers for formula if you decide not to breastfeed. There is a lot of help out there.

Contact your county's health department. They will charge you for your prenatal appointments on a sliding scale, based on what you make. My girlfriend was pregnant at 19 years old, was poor, had no family, and I think she pretty much went her entire pregnancy and childbirth paying about $100. Her hospital bill would have cost her $10,000 if she was charged for it.

If you're under 18 the state will take care of you completely. If you're over 18 you can still get health care for you while pregnant, call up your local county offices and ask where to start, they will help you. Planned Parenthood will also provide you with temporary health care while pregnant, and also help you get the ball rolling on findin help with the cost of it all.

there are free clinics that you can go to. make an appt asap!! you can only determine how far you are by getting an ultrasound. Does your bf know? what does he have to say about all this??

If you don't remember when you had your last period then the only way to tell is by an ultrasound. Have you talked to your boyfriend about this? Do you have a job? Does your boyfriend have a job? You can't just ignore it - it won't go away. Edit: It doesn't sound like your boyfriend is being very supportive - one way or the other. How old are you? If you can't afford medical care now how are you going to be able to afford a baby? Planned parenthood or some clinics are less expensive. You can try going to one of them for help. They can talk to you about different programs. You really need to get your boyfriend to help you with this decision. It's his baby too and it can't be left up to you alone.
