What to do to ease the severe back pain?

Is it safe to take a vicodin from time 2 time to ease back pain while pregnant in the 3rd trimister?

  • severe back pain due to car accident one year ago and been prescribed vicodin, now i am pregnant and is in the 3rd trimister, stopped taking vicodin, but back pain is worse and would like to know if i take just one vicodin to ease the pain a little would hurt the baby

    I was a passenger in two severe car accidents while pregnant with my second child. One doctor percribed vicodin for me, my OB/GYN told me not to take them. If you absolutely need something stronger than tylenol, ask your OB/GYN for something safer.

no don't take it unless your OB/GYN says its ok. Call their 24 hour line and they'll tell you. Don't risk the baby's health. Try some ibuprofen or tylenol.
