Anything u have bought for ur baby that was a waste of time and money?

  • heya all. iv just asked a question on what to buy for baby, is there anything u bought that u really didnt need or use? i cant see the idea of burping clothes,i mean i saw them in mothercare and for what they are are a huge amount of money, i think a tea towel or some kitchen roll would do the same job, also u expect a bit of sick with a young baby. am i right? or are they infact the best things u bought x what were ur biggest wastes of money? xxxx best wishes and htis is my 1st so im all new to this lol x

Id have to say my first answer was the changing table.... Your not going to run to the babys room every time you need to change them. It usually ends up being used as a storage table. The diaper genie becomes an expense just to buy the refills... I ended up giving that away. A small item i never used was I had got a little baby visor to put in the car window so the sun wouldn't come in... Well I went to put it on and realized that most vehicle come with factory tint. LOL.. so before you buy that check your car windows to see if theres tint on them already to keep the sun out.

A change table! Complete waste of money and space. We have a 2 story, and my daughter's room is upstairs.. I wasn't going to treck upstairs every time I needed to change her, it was more convenient on the floor of wherever we were at the time. It takes up space, and ends up becoming a closet, because I would throw clothes on it!

I actually like the idea of a burping cloth. Depends on where you get them though on the cost. I think the diaper gene thing is a waste of money. Just buy a seperate smaller trash can for the baby room and line it with liners. That's wat I did. Babys R Us even has diaper pails to help with the odor. The diaper gene can only be used with diaper gene refills. Get only what you see fit, and don't go buy the checklists some registeries have. Also buy a convertable crib. I have one that goes from crib to toddler bed to twin bed!!! Goodluck!

I used the burping cloths. I bought inexpensive ones at Wal-Mart. It was embarrassing to have the baby spit up on you. Plus they are bigger with out being too big. I cant really think of anything I bought and didnt use. For us maybe a baby tub would be a waste. They are bulky and a pain to store when not bathing baby. I will get one of those folding bathing chair things.

A changing table! Most the time i only changed her wherever i was at the moment. on the floor the couch, the table lol. With all three i never, maybe only a few times, changed the baby on the changing table. ANd yes, i never used burping clothes, they are WAY to small for the amount of spitup a baby can have, especially when they get older, they just turn their head and it all goes down your arm... Yes just use a kitchen towel, works much better. Also for us, a crib!! they all slept in bed with us until they were about 18 months which then they were in a toddler bed..CONGRATS !!!!!

These formula containers were amazing, i used mine everywhere I went and it really helped because if I was out on the go I would never have to measure the formula, these were def. one of the best purchases and cheapest too. http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3502347 I would say this was the biggest waste of money for me http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2501263

my mom SWEARS by burping cloths! you can get them from like walmart for like 6 for 2 dollars! my father in law told me a changing table will be the biggest waste of money, cuz you usually end up changing them wherever you are. and i've heard that the baby slings, like the ones you put around you to hold the baby never really get used.
