Do you need qualification to do a course to be a babysitter?

Need pricing and advice! Take a look!?

  • Okay so I need some pricing help.. I have 3 children, 2 boys ages 4 1/2 years old and 2 years old and a daughter who will be 1 in a couple of weeks. I am a SAHM but I have been having some horrible health problems, chronic nausea, migraines, random bouts of passing out, fatigue, wooziness and anxiety attacks. Some of those health issues tend to leave me "down" when I have to take care of my children, and since we are still pretty new to our area and don't have friends who can watch them as much as I need it, I was gonna hire a babysitter/nanny. I have this girl who is interested in taking my kids to her house or help watch them here, and she has childcare experience and has a child of her own. She has also offered to feed my kids and even make dinner for my family if Im "down", now the only thing is we are pretty strapped for cash right now..we have a bunch of bills and of course my husband is the only one who is working.. I really do think that having her help will help my health issues (I suffer from a lot of stress and this might ease the stress, which will in turn help my health..hopefully) but Im not sure how much to pay her.. She has agreed that we can set up a payment schedule (pay on paydays) and she already knows we are tight on money and can't afford a really expensive babysitter, she has also said that I can set the price and whatever else. Now normally with a babysitter, I will provide food, diapers, wipes and everything that they will need while watching my children. I also have looked into daycare but it is expensive and the daycare here on base is full and they have a waiting list.. So what do you think? How much should I pay her? I want to be fair to her but also be fair to our wallet! My husband kinda freaked out a little bit because I mentioned this babysitter/nanny and he was like we don't have the money! But yet I need this, I really do! Please no negative comments! Just looking for advice and opinions!

  • Answer:

Well, if you have these health issues, could you go to a doctor and maybe get government help? They have programs where they will help pay for child care whether it's daycare or a sitter and that would take the strain off you financially. Otherwise I would sit down and crunch numbers and see how much you can realistically afford to pay her, offer her the price and see what she says. Good luck
