Is Child Modeling Legal?

Child Modeling? Are there any parents who has there child in modeling?

• Can U recommend any reputable agencies in New York? What or how should I go about getting my 8 year old who is interested into modeling?

  I'm not familiar with which agencies are in NY but you should not have to pay anything out of pocket if you do sign on with a reputable agency. Our daughter, age 6, models here in the mid-West. The agency paid for her portfolio and put her through her modeling classes. They also should have an excellent accounting program. My daughter's agency does take 10% for managing her (that's about average), puts 10% in a fund we call the foo foo fund since it covers all of her haircuts and clothing costs (not for being on site, none of that should cost you!), we receive 10% to cover our expenses (traveling, hotel between shoots if necessary, etc.) and the rest goes into a trust fund. She'll receive 1/2 of the trust at 18 and the rest at 21. We figure she already has most of her college paid for as well as her first car if she wants it.
