How can I get my parents to pay attention to me?

• I'm thirteen but my fourteenth is in a week tomorrow, and my sister is fifteen. She has a load of friends, she's super pretty, she goes to a private school, she has a boyfriend and everybody loves her. I do have friends and stuff but I'm a bit of an outsider and a bit insecure...and I go to the local public school too. My sister is always going out with her friends and boyfriend and she keeps my parents always talking about her, fighting over what she should and shouldn't do, arguing about her, and they NEVER pay any attention whatsoever to me! Never take me shopping, never care about my grades (probably because I'm a straight A student) and just flat out don't care what I do. I don't do anything anyway. I never hang out with friends and I don't have a social life, really. How can I get them to pay more attention to me? Please don't suggest talking to them because my mom will blame me for throwing a self-pity party and it will go in one ear and out the other. Please help? :(

  Stop comparing yourself to your sister first. Whining about that will not score points. 'I never hang out with friends and I don't have a social life, really.' This doesn't help either. Locking yourself in a room isn't going to work, because no one sees you. Do the opposite, and they might give you attention. She goes out with friends, you don't. She has social life, you don't. You wonder why she gets more attention?
