Foster parents, what has your experience been? Advice for someone considering foster parenting?
-
My husband and I want more children, but may not be able to have any more. We're thinking about doing a foster-to-adopt program, but I'm disappointed with the lack of information online. I'm curious about what it's like to be a foster parent, day to day. How long have children stayed with you? What types of problems have you encountered? What percentage go back to their families? What is it like to deal with the foster care system? I also want to know about the logistics: how do you start? who do you talk to? is a state or a private foster program better? how do you choose?
