IS GOV INTRUSION GETTING OLD? 24/7 TELLING US WHAT, WHERE, HOW AND WHEN TO DO THINGS? ARE YOU TIRED OF THIS?

Government seems to be in the habit of justifying such actions based on poorly performed studies or anecdotal evidence. I suppose that if someone replaced every light used for more than a few hours a day, the savings in energy would justify the higher cost of each bulb. But the vast majority of people regularly use only a small fraction of the total number of lights regularly for more than a few hours a day. Personally, of all the light bulbs at my residence, which total 100, only about 5 percent are used for more than a few hours a day. The remaining 95 percent are used less frequently and their use can vary from less than one minute per day to a few hors per week. Of all the bulbs I use most, I have replaced the incandescent bulbs with efficient light bulbs. I anticipate recovering the extra cost of the efficient bulbs within a few years, which is why I replaced the incandescent bulbs. But if I replaced the remaining bulbs with efficient bulbs, the payback would take substantially longer and would likely not occur within my children’s lifetime. I don’t mind the government encouraging the switch from incandescent to more efficient light bulbs, but a responsible government would educate rather than mandate. Let the people decide. • Answer:

We switched bulbs years before the gov said anything. And we homeschool w/o any gov interference whatsoever ever. All the best.

You should complain about your struggles with media literacy; a preschool added chicken nuggets to a child's lunch and the child chose to eat the chicken and ignore the rest of her lunch. And the government is not seizing your bulbs.

I am confused of where this intruding government is? I buy cheap light bulbs from the dollar store and leave them on 24/7 and nobody gives a crap. I send my kid with a bagged lunch of worse stuff than you mentioned and again, nobody gives a crap. I think I am one of only a few people left in this country who actually supports our government and is still proud to live in a country where bitching about light bulbs and sacked lunches is the worst of our problems.
