Do you get angry when you watch nanny 911?

I'm not a parent, but I watch this every day when I get home from work. It's infuriating most times. They act like it's all the kids' fault, but they don't see themselves in the kids, or the kids reacting to what the parents do. My favorite episode was when one of the nannies said, "if you think you can do a better job then me, then get on with it!" Why bother asking them to help if the parents don't want to try something else!? Also, on a recent episode that came on, how did the mother not see herself favoring one kid over the other? She outright gave one kid his toys back when he came downstairs to ask, but then took the other kid's toys when he was sitting in bed? Wth. So what if he looked outside his door, he wanted his toys like his brother got his!

It's funny you ask this today! I have a toddler that recently started waking up at night and screaming her head off. Nothing seemed to work. Yesterday, I asked for advice on this site and was told to go to Nanny 911's site and look at 'controlled crying'. We tried it last night and for the first time in a week, her screaming went from 2 hours to 1 hour! BLESS Nanny 911!!

I agree that the parents do not discipline their kids and that they are the root of the problem, but kids still have the sense to know the difference between right and wrong. Personally those nannies are too soft. I don't like any of them and none of their techniques are original. Those Nannies portray the typical "permissive" parenting and "positive discipline only". Kids needs boundaries, kids need consequences for breaking those boundaries and those consequences aren't always going to be positive. Sorry but that's life. These nannies teach kids something that is unrealistic: You will always be corrected in a positive constructive manner. That's not realistic by world's standards.

I watch the show and don't so much get angry as sad. It really gets me when a mother is obviously favoring one kid right in front of the others. It's hard for me to get angry at somebody who is only doing what they know how to do. Some people just were never taught how to raise children, without good parents themselves how are they supposed to know.

i use some of her parenting techniques but most are common sense. its surprising how many parents actually don't think they cause the problems but when you watch the way they parent there children no wonder nanny 911 was called in

There was this one episode where the dad would let the kids ride on a four wheeler without a helmet on, and that wasn't even the worst that would make me mad-but thats the only thing that I can remember, oh that and the daughter made a fire in the back without the parents even knowing. There were some things in that episode that reallly made me mad.

I don't get angry but Im like what the F&*K is wrong with these parents, then when they call for help and the nanny is trying to show them how to be responsible good parents they get mad. I think it is mostly for the parents, yeah sure kids will see what they can get away with but if your consistant and don't let them walk all over you you'll have more success of them behaving better! I have w boys 6 and 9 sometimes they get out of hand but I don't scream and swear at them sometimes kids know that's the only attention they will get so they feel it's better then no attention at all.

oh I get real angry at those dummy parents....I don't know what some of them are thinking! I get even angrier at the ones who resist help and think they know better when they were the ones who called in the first place.
