Parents of teenagers and younger children: Does the Easter Bunny still come for all the children?
-
My DH and I were having a little debate this morning. My girls are 13 and 15. They obviously don't believe in the Easter Bunny or Santa anymore. My son who is 9 has Autism and still believes in all that. DH asked if the Easter Bunny was still bringing baskets for the girls this year. I said "Yes because that's how my parent's did it. They gave us baskets pretty much until we moved out". I wanted to keep that tradition with my children. $$$ is a bit tight this year, which is why I think DH brought this up. I'm wondering what other parents do when they have teenagers and younger children? Does the Easter bunny come for them all or only the younger ones?

Answer:
The Easter Bunny comes for everyone. That's how my grandmother did it...that's how my mother did it...that's how i will do it. I make baskets for our son (2), my husband's sister and her boyfriend (late teens and early twenties), their two children (3) and his younger cousin (12). I remember going up to my grandmother's for Easter lunch and seeing at least a dozen baskets being passed out for children, teens, and adults. It's candy. How can you be too old for candy? You say money's tight. Okay, that's fine. An Easter basket doesn't have to be huge. I put together our baskets, with extra candy left over, with $15-$20, easily.

The Easter Bunny never came to my house, but my kids got Easter baskets from me as long as they lived at home.

No. We never were into doing the Easter bunny or even Santa Clause. My kids know about the Easter bunny and know he's just an imaginative/fun character for the secular side of Easter. Our focus around Easter is Jesus. They get a new Easter outfit for Sunday morning and some treats on Easter, but other than that we don't really celebrate the secular meaning behind Easter. Egg hunts are fun too, but still they know it's just for fun and the object is collecting candy :) This is just what we do for our family. We feel it's most important to focus on Jesus.

It doesn't matter how old they are in my opinion or if they believe or don't you can't buy for one and leave the other 2 out ! I am still getting easter eggs now off my nana and i am 28 married with my second child on the way lol ! I understand money is tight it is for everyone but you could get them a little something :o)

There is a 5 year age difference between my oldest and my middle child. I still buy for him just to make it look real, however he plays along for his brother and sister. But I tell the middle one that the older you get the less santa and the easter bunny bring, because he wants the little one's to enjoy it. works well in my house cause now my middle is about the age where he will know it isn't true too
Yep. My mom loves easter and tradition my brother is 13 and doesn't beleive anymore and I'm 19 with a baby girl out of the house. My mom says if we come there will be easter baskets for everyone and eggs to hunt. ven for my fiancee. Santa still comes for everyone too.
