Why do people get so snobby about this new bedroom idea of mine? Its insulting!?

I"m sorry for asking this in the parenting section. I have aspergers. Many people who are friends and acquantances have made fun of me and called this idea childish. My parents offered me a rustic cabin in their backyard to have sleepovers in. The cabin has wood floors, wood walls and a wooden door. The walls and roof are insulated. One disadvantage is the cabin has no windows. My parents wouldn't allow me to put windows in. The cabin has electricity and a flameless fireless heater. From the cabin I can also pick up the house wifi signals from the main house even with the door closed. My parents would allow me to decorate and paint the walls and inside of the door as well. The door has a lock on the inside that could only be unlocked or locked with a key. I would keep several keys inside the cabin. Being inside with no windows and the door closed could bother me. If I painted the walls and door colors that create enthusiam it may make me feel better. I guess I could get used to having the door closed while inside. After a few weeks or a month I could get used to having the door closed and close it myself. What colors should I paint the walls and inside of the door? The only advantage of this cabin is I could have privacy late at night while online and talk on my phone without waking up my family. Is it worth it? The cabin has no restroom inside. I could use the restroom in the main house. I would still keep my room in the main house. This would just be for some weekends. This means that if I had to go to the restroom in the middle of the night I would have to hold it until the next morning. Is it still worth taking this place? Or can put a camping tiolet inside the cabin. If I do take this place what color should I paint the inside of the door and inside of the walls? I'm clustrophobic and the no windows thing bothers me a little. I'm a 25 year old male who still lives at home and I have aspergers. Studio apartments in my area I can change the lock and put a regular 1Studio apartments in my area rent out for $1100 a month or more. I can change out the lock and put in a regualar doornob so I wouldnt have to deal with the key. So many people who are friends and acquantances have hurt my feelings telling me this idea and place is a bad idea. Other people on yahoo answers have also talked me against this idea. It hurts my feelings. Even though I said sleepovers I would be the only one sleeping in there. The inside of the place smells like leaves and wood.

"I don't know why I keep asking this question. " No, nor do I. And you've been asking it for _years_. I'm afraid it's an obvious fantasy. Why on earth would your parents offer you a cabin to sleep in but refuse to allow you to put windows in it? Why would anyone even _own_ a heated cabin without windows? If you want to live in a building, it needs windows. The smell will change within days of someone living in it, and you can paint it whatever colour you like and put whatever lock on the door you want.

It sounds nice. I would just pee outside in the middle of the night if I had to. I would paint it a nice warm cream colour. :)

Whats childish about not living in your parents house? Just do it. Your 25, you need your privacy and so do your parents. Check out this decal window I found while looking for alphabet decals for my sons room... its a sticker that looks like a window. Very refreshing for a room with no windows... http://www.vinyl-decals.com/window_forest-WA-WindowForest.php Paint the walls "wood lilly" or a very light pastel yellow or pastel green. What is the preoccupation with the lock? Are you afraid to get stuck inside? Just take the lock off and put a chain lock or a deadbolt lock that turns with the knob from the inside on there. Changing a lock takes 5-10 minutes, even for a teenager, with a new lock an instruction sheet and a screwdriver. As for the bathroom.. Get a 5 gallon bucket and screw a $10 seat on it. Total cost $16. You probably wont need to use it much, mostly just go in the bushes and use the bucket for bigger things.
It sounds like you want to, so what's actually stopping you? The opinions of people who are never going to see this cabin? Go ahead and do your thing, it's nice to have privacy and your own special place. Paint the inside light colours like whites and yellows to make it bright and airy
???? Profit!!
The window thing isnt a huge deal, its like a basement apartment. You can paint a window or get a wall sticker that looks like outside. But.. the bathroom thing is a no deal for me, unless you can call a plumber and put in a bathroom/shower stall.
