What are some activities that I could use with preschool children for their physical development?

What all activities and teaching methods should I use to teach phonics to a group of children of age 3-4 years?

  • What all activities and teaching methods should I use to teach phonics to a group of children of age 3-4 years? Can you please give me a systematic approach to teach phonics..I have complete knowledge of phonics ..I have successfully taught my 6 year old son at home who can now read short stories but I am not trained nor can I afford to go for a training..But in my country I can easily teach a group of students at home without training..

  • Answer:

I homeschool my children and my 4 yr old is reading at a 6 yr old level so, maybe my method works. I of course begin with alphabet then letter sounds then move to vowels AEIOU then I use all short a words for a week of "reading or spelling" cat hat bat fat rat sat then I go to cab dab fab lab nab gab jab tab then cap map nap tap sap bag wag tag rag gag sag lag can fan pan ran van lastly: Jam, ram, ham, tam, yam That finishes the A's Then I move to E bed and "ed" words den and "en" words bet and et words beg and eg words I do the same with I O and U all the short sounds. all the while I introduce sight words like A and by be do did if it is am are him her his she we ect.... with the tools they are learning in "phonics" and sounds + what they are learning in sight words....they will be reading by term 3 (the letter I) Good luck and God bless, I hope it helps
