Foster parenting requirements?

Requirements and reimbursements for foster parents?

• I hate asking this question because I know I'll get yelled at but, please, read the whole thing before you post something nasty. I live in Texas and am looking into foster parenting in a couple of years. I am wondering how much money foster parents get per child. The ONLY reason I'm asking is because I want to know how much money we're going to have to have extra per month to be able to do this. (For instance, if we determine another child will cost $400 a month, and the foster system pays $200 a month, I know we need to find an extra $200 a month. Hypothetical numbers.) Does anyone have these numbers? Also, what other requirements are there? (For instance, I know each child needs their own bedroom...anything else?) Thanks!

  This varies from state to state and from child to child. I am a foster parent in MN. When a child is placed with you he/she gets evaluated. You get a base amount on a scale for the child’s age. For example an infant was about 17 dollars a day. If the child has a disability or has hard to manage behaviors there is an additional amount.
