Do parents that choose not to vaccinate their kids have to homeschool them?
-
Not that I would ever consider not vaccinating them, I'm just curious. Do all parents who don't vaccinate have to homeschool their kids or are there special schools that take unvaccinated kids...?
-
Answer:
parents who choose not to vaccinate are choosing to fire a loaded gun, at random, or to fire a gun that they do not know to be loaded or not. the point is, vaccination does carry some risk to some kids some of the time, but not vaccinating carries a hugh risk to all of the kids all of the time. In the bigger interests of all of the kids in school, it is better to bet on the side of being vaccinated, than not. People who choose not to be vaccinated, except where there is pretty well proven risk to the kid, should be out of the public system. It is as though they are allowing the kid to be shooting a gun around the school at random.

You sign a form saying it is against your beliefs to get any or all vaccinations. They can't just not let you go to school.

Most public schools take non-vaccinated kids. The parent just has to sign a simple form.

No. All states have some form of exemption (religious, medical, or philosophical). You just know how to get them. http://www.nvic.org/Vaccine-Laws/state-vaccine-requirements.aspx For example, I live in CA and would get the philosophical exemption. To get my unvaccinated children in to school, all I have to do is sign a form saying that vaccinations are against my personal beliefs. **They get sent home on suspension because they are not in compliance with the law. If they sign an exemption, they are in compliance with the law. People just need to know about how to get the exemptions where they live.
No, not all of them do. I think schools require waiver to be signed though. I cannot imagine not vaccinating my kids. I would be too afraid that they would contract one of those diseases and having lasting permanent damage. I do have a question for Hearts (I know she'll answer this): How did you keep yourself sane?! I know you didn't vaccinate (I respect that). But how and why did you come to that decision? Didn't it scare you that your kids could contract one of those diseases that vaccines protect against? You are one brave woman!

Hopefully NOT! LONG LIVE ALEX JONES!...for reporting that medical officials are pressured to tell the media and the public that ALL vaccines are safe, when they're NOT!

This is the dumbest thing I've heard this month. No. Usually schools require an exemption form from your doctor stating that you have chosen not to vaccinate and that the doctor, school and any other source their child comes in contact with is not responsible for medical contidtions or illnesses their child contracts during the school year as a choice not to vaccinate their child. It is usually only private schools that don't budge on the vaccine thing, but public schools do. Personally I would rather vaccinate my child rather than play the "it will never happen to me" card by not doing so. Vaccines can be spaced out rather than too many at one time and they do protect from some diseases. Tetnaus shots are one of those as they help prevent lock jaw and serious infection should you injure yourself where the skin is broken. There is no law that says if you don't vaccinate you have to homeschool anymore than there is a law that says your vaccination records determine how much education your child is allowed to get. That is just ridiculous.

Unvaccinated kids are not barred from public schools. Even schools that have a firm "policy" won't actually bar them. Parents have to sign a waiver. All the best.

Here's the vaccine exemption information for every state. http://www.mothering.com/discussions/showthread.php?t=953402 And for Canada: http://vran.org/exemptions/legal-exemption-forms/ There are no "special schools" for unvaccinated kids. Every school, public or private, must follow the law regarding vaccine exemptions. Most schools will not tell parents that they have the option to get an exemption. Usually parents must do the research themselves, and give the school the appropriate paperwork.

in canada, you cannot be vaccinated against your will, no matter what the schools say. it would contravene the canadian charter of rights and freedoms which guarantees freedom from unwanted medical procedures - this is why psychos cannot be "court-ordered" to take their medication or undergo treatment. the court can recommend it, but if the person refuses, nothing really can be done except to finally lock them up on a governor-general's warrant (indefinite incarceration) if they prove themselves to be a repeated and habitual danger to themselves and/or others. kids in school who are not vaccinated are sent home in the case of an outbreak. i would LOVE to see that note: "dear parents: we've got a case of polio confirmed in the school. kids who are not vaccinated must stay home - everybody else, see you monday!", lol. for the record, my youngest has had the first three shots but will not be getting any others. my oldest had a very severe reaction to vaccination requiring emergency treatment for a sudden and virulent fever and massive swelling of the leg that was injected. she's almost 24 now and has suffered from an autistic spectrum disorder (asperger's) her entire life. well, okay, it might not be asperger's - it might be tourette's AND ocd AND adhd AND a sleep disorder AND anorexia syndrome AND a "non-specific personality disorder of a pervasive nature". in other words, asperger's. coincidence? i doubt it.
