How do you raise your babies while you're a career woman?
-
I'm a career woman and planning to have some babies, but I don't feel like giving up first years of my growing babies into someone else's hands. The idea is horrifying me. However, quitting my job can give a serious effect on our family finance. is there any smart solutions besides quitting my job?

Answer:
Either get a babysitter or nanny. Or you can work from home. ~bon

you need to prioritize. children are more important than money. you don't need to get your nails done and your hair hi lited every month. just necessities and you will make it just fine. and if you still have trouble start a business working from home.

If you actually consider yourself a career woman why do you want babies? Being a mother is a full time job. Figure out the family finances and then plan to stay home with your babies until they go to school. Then find a 9-3 job after they go to school full-time. I actually figured out that after paying for daycare fees, lunches, parking, gas, drycleaning, clothing and shoes for work that I would end up with less than $100 a week.

you should wait awhile and when you do decide to have a baby go for it. When your around 9 months you should take a vacation and have the baby as it gets older you could take time out of your day to spend with the kid

I am going through the same thing. Save up on your vacation and take advantage of FMLA. DO you work for a family friendly company? IF not swithc before you have kids. YOu need a place that will not get mad if you want your kids to stay with you once an a blue moon on a no school day....or you have to rush to pick them up at school since they are sick or the babysitter is a no show.

well fmla allows you off for a year, but you are only guaranteed job , in order to keep your positon i think its 3-4 months. i wouldn't wait the older you get the harder it is. it seems unfair but when ur young with no money ur very fertile but when ur older and established with money you spend it all on trying to get pregnant i didn't wait you'll never miss not working more. talk to you husband and family hopefully they will assist you. you don't have to be supermom its ok to ask for help. good luck they are so worth every sacrifice

From my experience, I can say that it is very difficult to be a working mother and raise a baby at the same time. The child needs all you attention and care, therefore, you will be worried about him/her even while he/she is in a babysitter's hands. Here are some options you can go for: 1-have your own mother to look after the child, because the grandmother will be more attached to the child than a strange babysitter, you may provide her with an assistant nanny to help her or give her some rewards from time to time. 2- ask your work place to provide a nursery for all working employees children and provide a nanny to look after them, you may offer to cut a percentage from your salaries to pay for this nanny. Then you can always have a quick watch on your baby and feed him from time to time. 2-Do not go for a job which will take all your day, Also avoid working on the weekends. 3-go for a part-time job, you can stay at home while your husband is out, and go out in the evening while your husband is in to look after the baby. 4-plan with your husband to cut down expenses for at least two years, then you can quit your job for a while and be free to raise up your child. learn to adjust & live with what your have. 5-look for a good babysitter, but this is risky as you will have to have a close eye on babysitters nowadays, and also the risk that your child will loose his touch with you. Anyway may Allah help you to take the right desicion. afterall the money will come and go but the children wouldn't. What will be the use of having millions, while your chidlren are either spoiled or are no longer there?!

Well if you really want to have a baby ( or more) then you have to prioritize. Would you rather be home with your baby or at work? Are you ready for a baby? If you are then surely you can find a job that you like that you can do in the comfort of your home, with your little one(s). Hope I could help!!!!

Being home with your children when they are small (and big) is so so important. you are right to be horrified about allowing someone else to raise your child. You have good mothering instincts, so go with them. Before becoming pregnant talk to your husband about how you can cut things out of your lifestyle. You'd be surprised how much money we waste. Cut out cable, internet, manicures, eating out, any extras and see how that helps your budget. Work part time or from your home. Take in another baby and stay home with both. Nurse your baby; it's the healthiest and most satisfying thing you can do for the child and saves lots of money in formula. Job share. Get your finances in order before the baby comes. good luck and remember you have the rest of your life to make money, but your baby is only a baby for a short short while.

I married at 21 and now have 3 boys...kept my job, I did however ask for an additional 6 weeks of personal leave following the Maternity leave of 6 weeks. Of course keeping your career will have to mean giving up some of the baby's first steps, excetera...but you will enjoy the first coo's, smiles and cuddles which you will keep w/you always. Plan on saving $ for those extra special bonding moments with your baby, in the end it will be well worth it. Good luck!
