How do I use my own pic as an avatar?

How many moms on Yahoo! Answers use an avatar pic of their children or infants? Is this ethical?

  • Im sorry, I have seen a number of moms use their avatar pic as their children or even their very young babies. Do you think this is ethical? Is this safe to do? Why or why not? I have thought about doing this, but I need some feedback on this topic first. Thanks for your answers.

    I used to have a picture of my son as my avatar for a good year or so.... And then I aquired a psycho troll and that person stole my son's picture and used it as their avatar picture and was posting really mean and hateful things about myself and my son. Since then, I have not posted a picture of my son on this website. Too many fruit loops on here.

Ethical? I have a picture of my son, not a picture of my son with his pants down on the toilet. Unless someone can track me and my family down from the nickname "Rosie", I think I'm in the clear.

I had it up for a month or so, maybe more I forget. Then no kidding I got an email telling me she was hot. She was 6. It was by far the creepiest thing I ever read. I have a picture of me I use from time to time, complete with a wedding gown and fishing waders. But I'm so smokin hot in it I was upsetting all the other women.

i would not do it as i'd rather not have my kids' pictures circulating around the internet. but there's certainly nothing unethical about it.

What do safety or ethics have to do with posting a picture of a kid? They're little tiny avatars, is not like you can look at one and know where the kid lives or anything.

I am too paranoid to use my 7 year old's picture as an avatar... there are too many creepy people in this world.

I used to have one up... But to many Catholic priests were IMing me.

I think it is completely moronic. If a pervert were looking for a child and wanted pics to masterbate to wouldnt they come somewhere that has a parenting section? Also people tend to give out a lot more information about themselves than they think.whether their account is "private" or not.

I have two young kids and never will put their pictures or their names up on here. Only my pets.
