Does anyone know of any financial assistance for a single mom?

Assistance for helping a single mom get a car..does anyone know of any?

• i am a hard working single mother of a 13 month old little girl. i have no help financially and between daycare and all the necessities for myself and the baby im stuck asking people for rides every single day. does anyone know of an assistance program?? thank you.

  There are no national groups. There is something called the "help book" which is available in most bigger cities. It lists local places who can help you. Really though, you can get a running used car for $500. I'd save even a couple bucks each week and cut back where you can. Get on WIC, go to a food bank, do what you can to save a couple bucks here and there. Talk to the babysitter and see how much extra it would cost for a few more hours. See if you can work an extra 3-5 hours a week at your job. Or see if you can babysit in your home on your days off so you can be with your baby. Most of the assistance programs for cars I have seen just help you get financing. No one just gives out free cars. You could try speaking with your priest and see if they will give you a couple hundred towards your car... or you could just move to an area with a bus system. We all have the ability to up and move when we need it.
